Our Program Director, Ryan Vrba, has officially stepped into the role of Chief Operating Officer! Since joining Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry in July, Ryan has exemplified dedication, adaptability, and a deep belief in our mission. His journey has taken him from Program Director to Interim CEO, and now, we’re thrilled to announce his promotion to Chief Operating Officer. Ryan’s commitment to our organization and the youth we serve has been unwavering, and we’re excited to see his impact grow in this new leadership role.

Join us for our upcoming Office Hours, an open, drop-in session designed to connect guardians and staff in a supportive space. Come any time between 5–6 PM to ask questions, share concerns, or simply connect with others in our community.

This month’s focus will be Mentoring with Care: Emotional Support for Littles, where we’ll explore:

  • Recognizing signs of mental health challenges in Littles
  • Knowing when and how to refer to professional support
  • Practicing active listening and holding space
  • Setting healthy boundaries as a mentor

Registration links will be sent via email prior to office hours. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to your Match Coordinator, Dana or Avery.

This month’s Match Activity took mentoring to the water! Thanks to Charleston Party Cat, our Bigs and Littles enjoyed a beautiful morning cruising the waterways, searching for shark teeth, listening to music, and simply soaking in the sunshine together.

Moments like these go beyond just fun—they help strengthen the bonds between Bigs and Littles, creating lasting memories and deepening their connections. We loved seeing the joy, laughter, and excitement unfold with every wave.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible—it’s because of you that our matches continue to thrive.

We had a fantastic time at our recent Happy Hour Giveback at Ritual Rooftop & Restaurant! The evening was filled with delicious food, good vibes, and great company—as well as a little extra sparkle thanks to fairy hair and face painting.

It was a joy to gather together, celebrate community, and raise support for our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry. Events like these remind us how powerful it is to simply show up for one another.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the night so special. Your support helps us continue to ignite the power and promise of youth across the Lowcountry.

Our community showed up BIG at the WERQ Fitness Beaufort’s “Be a BIG Hero” charityWERQ dance class to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry! Dressed in hero-themed gear and full of energy, participants danced their hearts out for a great cause—and had a blast doing it.

This high-energy event combined fun and fitness with purpose, raising support to help us continue building life-changing mentoring relationships for youth in our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the dance floor and helped turn movement into impact. Your support means the world to us and the children we serve!
