Setting Sail for Connection: A Morning with Charleston Party Cat
This month’s Match Activity took mentoring to the water! Thanks to Charleston Party Cat, our Bigs and Littles enjoyed a beautiful morning cruising the waterways, searching for shark teeth, listening to music, and simply soaking in the sunshine together.
Moments like these go beyond just fun—they help strengthen the bonds between Bigs and Littles, creating lasting memories and deepening their connections. We loved seeing the joy, laughter, and excitement unfold with every wave.

Recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month & Asian Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month
As we step into May, we proudly recognize two deeply meaningful observances—Mental Health Awareness Month and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. At Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry, we honor this time by celebrating the strength, identity, and well-being of every youth we serve.
Mental health is a crucial part of every child’s journey. Through consistent mentorship, we aim to create safe, supportive spaces where Littles can feel seen, heard, and valued. We are committed to breaking stigmas, encouraging open conversations, and empowering young minds to prioritize emotional well-being.
At the same time, we celebrate the rich cultural heritage and contributions of our AAPI community. Representation matters—and our mission thrives when our Bigs, Littles, and supporters reflect the vibrant diversity of the world around us. This month, we uplift AAPI voices and stories, honoring the unique experiences that shape and inspire our collective journey.
To every Big, Little, and supporter—thank you for standing with us, for showing up with compassion, and for helping us create a world where every child can grow with confidence, pride, and purpose.
Together, we’re building a future where every child’s mental health is supported and every identity is celebrated.
