Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry

We believe transparency is key.  At Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry (BBBSL), we commit to openly sharing our financial with the public. 
Further, our leadership has its eye on the ball.  Our Finance Committee reviews our financials and budgetary decision making monthly and our Board of Directors reviews them six times annually. Our strategic leadership is committed to investing in efforts designed to achieve the best possible outcomes for youth and to sustainable, quality growth.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry was founded in February 2019 and opened its doors April 2020. 
The following 990 reflects a partial operating year including start-up expenses.  

Fiscal Year 2019-2020


Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry (BBBSL) is an independent 501 (c)(3) member affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). BBBSL has its own local Board of Directors with fiduciary oversight and decision-making authority.  BBBSL was founded in February 2018 and opened doors April 2018.  Its fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30.  To remain in compliance with BBBSA member standards, BBBSL is required to conduct and independent audit once annually. Its first annual audit will take place following the conclusion of fiscal year 2019-2020.
